Quit Your Job And Work From Home!

Are you sick of your job? Tired of the boss yelling at you, of nasty office politics, and that frustrating commute everyday? Would you just like to pack it all in right now and never go back? This is a dream for many people all across the world! While most of us love to be productive and achieve things in our lives, we could live without all of the irritating aspects of the normal 9-5 job. If you would rather not deal with it for another day, you might consider the idea of working from home.

Is working from home really viable?
In this day and age, working from home has never been so easy and so profitable! This is all due to the Internet. People these days are finding it much easier to not only find work, but to sustain it online. As long as you have a computer, an Internet connection and an ounce of intelligence, you can make working from home work for you! There are many different jobs that can be done from home using the internet or other forms of communication, all you need to do is to work out where your skills lie and what you would like to do for a living. After you have worked this out, the world of working from home will be your oyster!

What sort of jobs are available?
There are hundreds of different jobs that you can do in the comfort of your own home. If you have experience in administration, you might be able to find work doing word processing or data entry on your computer at home. All of your work will be received either digitally or in the post, and you will complete it on your computer and send it off to the appropriate person. If your skills and experience lie in sales, this is also something that you could potentially do from home. All you will need is a computer to find leads and to follow up calls, and a phone to make your sales calls from. This sort of work can be especially profitable if you have a natural knack for it. If you are a writer by trade, there is also a good market for work that can be done at home. You might set up a business writing resumes, editing books, or writing magazine articles. Again, all you will need is your computer and your Internet connection, and you are on your way. Similarly, you could find work as a translator of documents, if you are fluent in more than one language. Companies will pay very well to have their documents translate quickly and accurately, so if you have the language skills this could be a great way to earn some money.

What are the downfalls?
It all sounds like a dream come true, doesn’t it? Well, it can be! However, there are some parts of it that you might struggle with. The main problem you might have is with motivation. Without a boss looking over your shoulder or your superior cracking the proverbial whip, it can be easy to get distracted and not do as much work as you should. This is something you need to ensure does not happen, as if you fall behind with your work you risk losing customers and losing your income – and then your ability to work from home will suffer. It is a good idea to set working hours for yourself every day, like you have at your regular job. Wake up, get dressed, and then walk to your designated working area. It is best if this is a separate room in your home, but if you do not have that luxury then try to section off this area as best you can to create some distance between your working area and your living area. Set a time for your lunch break, and set a time for the end of your working day. You should also plan out what needs to be done every day, either in a diary or a digital calendar. This will help you to keep a track of your progress and what urgently needs to be done.

If you are smart about it, working from home can be a great experience. Work out what your skills are and find a job that matches them. It is important that you find a job that you are good at and that you enjoy, that way you will not be getting in over your head or be getting bored by what you are doing. When you fall into the habit of working from home, you will likely find it very fun! Many of your frustrations with your old 9-5 will be gone and you will be able to enjoy the surroundings and ulitmately save more time for yourself.
